Following the success of the 2020 biographical film 'De Gaulle,' a sequel titled 'La bataille de Gaulle : j'écris ton nom' is reportedly in development. The project aims to explore Charles de Gaulle's leadership during World War II, particularly his role in the French Resistance and the liberation of France.
According to industry sources, the film will be directed by Gabriel Le Bomin, who also directed the original. Lambert Wilson is expected to reprise his role as de Gaulle. The script is said to focus on the period from 1940 to 1944, covering de Gaulle's exile in London and his efforts to unite Free French forces.
No official release date has been announced, but production is expected to begin in late 2026 or early 2027. The film is being produced by Vertigo Productions, the same company behind the original.
