Dari Couspate, the Moroccan semolina and couscous producer, reported a first-quarter 2026 revenue of 175.30 million dirhams (MDH), down 16.3 MDH from 191.6 MDH in the same period of 2025, according to the company's financial statement released on May 29, 2026.
The 8.5% decline was attributed to logistics disruptions caused by adverse weather conditions, which affected the supply chain and distribution networks. The company did not specify the exact nature of the weather events but noted they impacted operations during the quarter ended March 31, 2026.
Despite the drop, Dari Couspate maintained its market position in Morocco's staple food sector. The company's management stated that measures are being taken to mitigate further disruptions, though no specific timeline for recovery was provided.
Analysts note that the company's performance is closely tied to agricultural output and logistics efficiency, given its reliance on durum wheat supplies. The full-year outlook remains cautious pending stabilization of supply chains.
