Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser has stated that if players want physical game releases, then 'companies should provide it.' In a recent interview, Houser said, 'I don't know that I care, but if people want that, I think companies should provide it.'
Houser, who left Rockstar in 2020, made these comments amid ongoing industry debates about the shift toward digital-only game distribution. Major publishers like Microsoft and Sony have released digital-only consoles, while physical game sales have declined in recent years.
However, Houser did not specify whether Rockstar or its parent company Take-Two Interactive plans to continue physical releases for future titles. The statement reflects his personal view rather than company policy.
