Team Canada has announced that Sidney Crosby and Macklin Celebrini will join the roster for the 2026 IIHF World Championship, set to take place in Zurich, Switzerland, from May 8 to May 24, 2026. Crosby, a three-time Olympic gold medalist (2010, 2014, 2026), and Celebrini, who won silver with Canada at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, will be key additions to the squad.
John Tavares, another Sochi 2014 Olympic champion, is also on the team. The roster includes a mix of veteran NHL stars and younger talent, aiming to secure Canada's first world championship gold since 2021.
The tournament features 16 teams, with Canada placed in Group A alongside Finland, Germany, and others. The games will be broadcast on TSN in Canada and NHL Network in the United States.
