Crawley Town Football Club has appointed former Celtic and Middlesbrough striker Scott McDonald as their new first-team manager. The League Two club confirmed the appointment on March 24, 2026, with McDonald signing a two-year contract.

The 42-year-old Australian, who made over 100 appearances for Celtic between 2007 and 2010, succeeds Steve Evans at the Broadfield Stadium. Evans left the club earlier this month after a short tenure.

McDonald, who has been working as a coach and pundit since retiring as a player in 2019, stated his ambition to implement an attacking style of football. He takes over a Crawley side currently positioned in the lower half of the League Two table.

The club's director of football, Chris Galley, said the appointment followed a thorough recruitment process and that McDonald's vision and experience were key factors in the decision.
