Dallas Mavericks forward Cooper Flagg has been named the 2026 NBA Rookie of the Year, the league announced on April 27, 2026. Flagg, the first overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, averaged 22.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game during the regular season.
Flagg's award comes after a season where he led all rookies in scoring and helped the Mavericks secure a playoff berth. He received 98 of 100 first-place votes from a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters.
"It's an incredible honor to join the list of great players who have won this award," Flagg said in a statement. "I couldn't have done it without my teammates and coaches."
The 19-year-old from Maine is the first Maverick to win Rookie of the Year since Luka DonΔiΔ in 2019. He also earned All-Star Game selection earlier this season.
