On Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the Salon International de l'Agriculture au Maroc (SIAM) in Meknès, the National Office of Agricultural Council (COMADER) signed a partnership agreement aimed at revitalizing and supporting agricultural cooperatives. The agreement was signed by COMADER Director General El Mahdi Arrifi and the President of the National Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives (FNCA), according to official sources.
The convention focuses on strengthening the capacities of agricultural cooperatives through technical support, training, and improved access to markets. It aligns with Morocco's Green Generation 2020-2030 strategy, which emphasizes the role of cooperatives in agricultural development and food security.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Arrifi highlighted that COMADER will provide advisory services to help cooperatives adopt modern farming techniques and improve their governance. The FNCA president noted that the partnership would benefit over 1,500 cooperatives across Morocco, particularly in rural areas.
SIAM 2026, held from April 21 to 26, is one of Africa's largest agricultural trade fairs, bringing together policymakers, farmers, and industry experts. The agreement was one of several signed during the event to boost the agricultural sector.
