PETALING JAYA: Lee Zii Jia's personal coach, Liew Daren, has moved to dismiss concerns over the Malaysian badminton star's fitness, stating his charge is in peak physical condition. The clarification comes amid speculation that the 2024 Paris Olympic bronze medallist might still be troubled by injury.
Liew confirmed that Zii Jia has resumed full training with the national squad. The player had been managing his workload following a series of tournaments earlier in the season, but his coach insists there are no lingering physical issues.
The focus is now on preparation for upcoming major events, including the defense of his Asian Championships title later this month. Lee Zii Jia is a key hope for Malaysia in men's singles badminton following his Olympic podium finish in Paris.
