China has criticized India's decision to formally name 27 locations in Arunachal Pradesh, warning that the move could complicate efforts to resolve the border dispute between the two countries. The spokesperson stated that China has always held a consistent and clear position on the boundary question, and that India's unilateral naming of places in the region is not conducive to maintaining peace and tranquility in the border areas. Arunachal Pradesh is a state in northeastern India, but China claims the region as part of southern Tibet, referring to it as Zangnan. The two countries have held multiple rounds of talks to resolve the border dispute, but no final agreement has been reached.
India's Ministry of External Affairs has not yet responded to China's criticism. The naming of the 27 places is part of India's efforts to assert its administrative control over the region.
