The trial of eight men accused of operating a significant drug trafficking network in the Chartres region has been postponed. The hearing, which was scheduled to begin, has been deferred to a later date by the judicial court of Chartres.
The defendants face charges related to the importation, transport, possession, and sale of narcotics, primarily cannabis resin. The investigation, led by the judicial police of OrlΓ©ans, uncovered a network suspected of trafficking several tons of the drug between 2020 and 2022.
Authorities allege the group used encrypted communication and sophisticated logistics, transporting drugs from Spain to the Centre-Val de Loire and Γle-de-France regions. The postponement grants more time for procedural preparations before the new trial date is set.
