Changan, the Chinese automaker, has introduced the CS55 PHEV 2026 to the Moroccan market, marking a significant step in its electrification strategy. The model was unveiled at an event in Casablanca, according to local automotive media.
The CS55 PHEV combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with an electric motor, offering a combined output of approximately 300 horsepower. It features a 19.27 kWh battery pack, providing an all-electric range of 100 kilometers (WLTP). The vehicle supports fast charging, allowing a 30-80% charge in about 30 minutes.
Changan entered Morocco in spring 2024 through Global Sian Motors, a subsidiary of the BUGSHAN group, which also represents Hyundai, Dongfeng, Tata, and Aston Martin. The brand has rapidly expanded its presence, and the CS55 PHEV is part of its push to offer more electrified options in the region.
The Moroccan launch includes a comprehensive warranty and after-sales service network, aiming to build customer confidence in the brand. Pricing details have not been officially disclosed, but the vehicle is expected to be competitively positioned in the hybrid SUV segment.
