The General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) and the global entrepreneurship network Endeavor organized a major networking event during the Gitex Africa 2026 technology exhibition in Marrakech. The gathering, held on the sidelines of the main exhibition, aimed to connect high-potential Moroccan and African startups with a curated group of international investors and venture capitalists.
The event was supported by several key partners, including the telecom operator Inwi, Crédit Agricole du Maroc, Aba Technology, the audit and advisory firm Forvis Mazars, and the venture studio MFounders. This partnership structure was designed to provide startups with access not only to capital but also to strategic business advice and networking opportunities.
Gitex Africa, now in its fourth edition in 2026, is one of the continent's largest tech and startup events. The CGEM-Endeavor initiative specifically targeted scaling startups, facilitating pitch sessions and one-on-one meetings to discuss funding rounds and growth strategies. The focus was on sectors like fintech, agritech, and climate technology, which are seen as key drivers for the region's digital economy.
By creating a direct bridge between entrepreneurs and global investment, the event underscores a continued effort to position Morocco as a leading startup hub in Africa. Similar matchmaking forums have become a staple at major tech expos, aiming to accelerate deal flow and foster the ecosystem development necessary for sustainable economic growth.
