The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has confirmed it will hear Senegal's appeal against being stripped of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title "as swiftly as possible." The Senegalese Football Federation lodged the appeal following the Confederation of African Football's (CAF) decision to disqualify the team.

CAF's disciplinary board nullified Senegal's 1-0 final victory over Morocco in February 2026 after ruling that Senegal fielded an ineligible player throughout the tournament. The governing body awarded the title to runner-up Morocco.

The CAS process is now underway, with the court stating it aims to expedite the proceedings. The final decision will determine the official champion of the 2025 AFCON tournament. The outcome is highly anticipated across the continent, as it involves one of African football's most prestigious titles.
