Canada's Einarson advances to gold medal game at curling worlds

Canada's Kerri Einarson will play for the gold medal at the 2026 World Women's Curling Championship in Calgary. Her Manitoba-based rink defeated Japan's Team Satsuki Fujisawa 11-3 in Saturday's semifinal, prompting a handshake after eight ends.

The Canadian team, consisting of skip Kerri Einarson, third Val Sweeting, second Shannon Birchard, and lead Briane Harris, dominated the match. They scored four points in the third end and three in the seventh to secure the decisive victory.

Canada will now face Switzerland's Team Silvana Tirinzoni in the gold medal game on Sunday. Switzerland defeated Sweden in the other semifinal. Japan will play Sweden for the bronze medal.
