The Cameroonian Football Federation (Fécafoot) has firmly denied allegations of misappropriating player bonuses from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The federation's secretary general, Arnold Maël Kamdem, issued a statement on April 17, 2026, dismissing what he called "false and defamatory" rumors circulating on social media.
Kamdem stated that all financial procedures related to the Indomitable Lions' participation in the tournament, which Cameroon hosted, were conducted transparently and in accordance with established agreements. He emphasized that the federation has always prioritized the well-being and rights of the national team players.
The denial comes amid ongoing public scrutiny of the federation's management. Fécafoot has called for calm and urged the public to rely on official communications, warning against the spread of unverified information that could harm the institution's reputation and the morale of the national team.
