On April 25, 2026, during the 18th edition of the Salon International de l'Agriculture au Maroc (SIAM) in Meknès, Crédit Agricole du Maroc (CAM) and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The ceremony was attended by Moroccan Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, Ahmed El Bouari, and Italian Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests, Francesco Lollobrigida, as confirmed by official sources.
The MoU aims to strengthen cooperation between CAM and CDP in financing sustainable projects, particularly in the agricultural sector. It focuses on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and cooperatives in Morocco, promoting green investments, and facilitating knowledge exchange in sustainable finance. The partnership aligns with Morocco's Green Generation 2020-2030 strategy and Italy's Mattei Plan for Africa.
This agreement is part of broader bilateral efforts to enhance economic ties between Morocco and Italy, with a specific emphasis on sustainable development and climate resilience in agriculture. The SIAM 2026 event, running from April 22 to 27, has been a platform for such international collaborations.
