The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially stripped Senegal of its 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title. The decision was confirmed by CAF's Appeal Board following a disciplinary review of the tournament final.

Former Liberian President and football legend George Weah has publicly denounced the ruling. In a statement, Weah expressed his dismay, calling the decision "a severe injustice to the Senegalese team and its fans" and detrimental to the spirit of African football.

The title revocation stems from a post-match disciplinary case. CAF's initial Disciplinary Committee found the Senegalese Football Federation guilty of serious misconduct during the final, leading to the Appeal Board's final verdict to annul the championship result.

As a consequence of the decision, the 2025 AFCON title is currently vacant. CAF has not yet announced if the runner-up will be awarded the championship or if other sanctions will follow.
