Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy has set a new record for the most entries on the Billboard U.S. Hot 100 chart by an African artist, according to Billboard. As of June 2026, he has 19 songs that have charted on the Hot 100, surpassing fellow Nigerian singer Tems, who has 14 entries.
Burna Boy, born Damini Ogulu, achieved this milestone with his latest single 'Higher' debuting at number 87 on the chart dated June 21, 2026. His previous hits include 'Last Last', 'On the Low', and 'Ye', which have contributed to his global recognition.
Tems, whose real name is Temilade Openiyi, previously held the record with 14 Hot 100 entries, including her collaboration on 'Wait for U' with Future and Drake, which peaked at number one in 2022.
Burna Boy's record highlights the growing influence of Afrobeats music on the global stage. He has won multiple awards, including a Grammy for Best Global Music Album in 2021 for 'Twice as Tall'.
