MANILA, Philippines – A nine-story building under construction in Angeles City, Pampanga, collapsed early Sunday, May 24, 2026, trapping an unknown number of workers beneath the rubble, according to local authorities.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:00 a.m. local time in Barangay Malabanias. Rescue operations are ongoing, with teams from the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) on site.
As of the latest reports, at least three workers have been rescued and taken to nearby hospitals. The number of those still trapped remains unclear. The cause of the collapse is under investigation.
