A 39-year-old man was arrested in Boksburg, Ekurhuleni, on Thursday, 26 March 2026, on charges of allegedly drugging and repeatedly raping his wife. The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) stated the man is also accused of distributing pornographic videos of the assaults without his wife's consent.
A second suspect, a 40-year-old man, was apprehended in Germiston during a multidisciplinary takedown operation led by the Hawks' Serious Organised Crime Investigation unit. Both suspects are expected to appear before the Boksburg Magistrate's Court on charges of rape and distribution of pornography.
The investigation was initiated after the victim reported the crimes. Authorities have not released the identities of the suspects to protect the victim's privacy. The case highlights ongoing efforts by South African law enforcement to combat gender-based violence and cyber-related sexual offenses.
