BALTIMORE — The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Baltimore Orioles 3-2 on Thursday evening at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, with Chris Bassitt allowing three runs over six innings in his first start against his former team.
Bassitt, who pitched for the Blue Jays from 2023 to 2025 before signing with the Orioles as a free agent, struck out seven and walked two. The Blue Jays scored all three runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by a two-run double from Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
Toronto starter Kevin Gausman earned the win, allowing two runs on five hits over seven innings with eight strikeouts. Closer Jordan Romano recorded his 12th save of the season with a perfect ninth inning.
The Orioles managed single runs in the fifth and seventh innings but could not complete the comeback. Baltimore falls to 28-24, while Toronto improves to 30-22.
