Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Brett Bateman exited Wednesday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays with right hamstring tightness, the team announced.
The injury occurred during a defensive play in the top of the fourth inning. Bateman was removed from the game and replaced by a pinch hitter in the bottom of the inning.
The Blue Jays have not yet provided a timeline for Bateman's return. He is considered day-to-day, according to the team.
Bateman, 27, has been a regular in the Blue Jays' outfield this season, batting .268 with 12 home runs and 45 RBIs entering Wednesday's game.
