Ghanaian Highlife musician Bisa Kdei has explained the common reasons behind the frequent collapse of music groups in the country's industry. In a recent interview with media personality George Quaye on the 'Showbiz 360' program, the "Mansa" hitmaker attributed the failures primarily to financial disagreements and a lack of formal, written agreements among members.
Kdei, whose real name is Ronald Kwaku Dei Appiah, elaborated that many groups start with friendship and passion but often lack the necessary business structure. He emphasized that without clear contracts outlining revenue sharing, roles, and responsibilities, disputes over money from performances and royalties inevitably arise, leading to breakups.
The artist, who began his career as part of a duo before finding solo success, used this experience to highlight the importance of professional management. He advised aspiring groups to treat their musical partnerships as serious business ventures from the outset to ensure longevity and fair treatment for all involved.
