The founder of the BFT (Body Fit Training) gym chain, Cameron Falloon, has been charged by the Fair Work Ombudsman with allegedly underpaying 417 staff members more than $1.5 million. The charges were filed in the Federal Court in late 2025.
According to the regulator, the alleged underpayments occurred between 2019 and 2023 across multiple BFT franchise locations. The charges include claims of failing to pay minimum wage rates, penalty rates, and leave entitlements.
Cameron Falloon, who founded the fitness franchise in 2018, faces maximum penalties of up to $126,000 per contravention. The Fair Work Ombudsman stated the legal action serves as a warning to all businesses about their workplace obligations.
A case management hearing is scheduled for a future date. The matter is ongoing before the Federal Court of Australia.
