Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Ben Danford has been assigned to the Toronto Marlies, the team's American Hockey League affiliate, for the remainder of the AHL playoffs. The move was announced on May 11, 2026.
Danford, a defenseman selected by the Maple Leafs in the first round (31st overall) of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, spent the 2025-26 season with the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League. He recorded 12 goals and 38 assists for 50 points in 68 regular-season games.
The Marlies are currently competing in the AHL playoffs. Danford's addition provides depth to the blue line as the team pushes for a championship. He is expected to make his AHL debut in the upcoming series.
