As of early April 2026, Belarusian agricultural enterprises have sown spring crops on more than 20% of the planned area, according to the country's Ministry of Agriculture and Food. The sowing campaign is progressing across all regions of the country.
The ministry reported that the pace of work is ahead of schedule compared to the same period last year. Favorable weather conditions in recent weeks have allowed farmers to begin field work earlier than usual.
Key crops being planted include spring barley, oats, wheat, peas, and sugar beets. The government has emphasized the importance of completing sowing in optimal agronomic terms to ensure a good harvest.
Agricultural production remains a significant sector of the Belarusian economy. The state provides support to farms through fuel subsidies and equipment maintenance to facilitate the timely completion of spring fieldwork.
