Banque Centrale Populaire (BCP) has partnered with Western Union to launch instant money transfers to Moroccan bank accounts, according to a press release dated June 30, 2026. The service allows users to send funds from abroad directly to BCP accounts in real time, using Western Union's global network.
The new feature aims to streamline remittances for the Moroccan diaspora, which sent over $11 billion to Morocco in 2025, according to World Bank data. Previously, such transfers could take one to three business days to clear.
To use the service, senders can initiate transfers via Western Union's website or app, selecting BCP as the receiving bank. Recipients receive funds instantly in Moroccan dirhams, with no additional fees beyond standard transfer charges.
BCP is one of Morocco's largest banking groups, with over 1,000 branches nationwide. Western Union operates in more than 200 countries and territories.
