Banque Populaire has announced a new initiative aimed at supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in their transition to mid-cap companies (ETIs). The program, details of which were released on May 14, 2026, includes dedicated financial products and advisory services.
The bank's CEO, Pierre-Yves Duchalais, stated that the goal is to help 500 SMEs reach ETI status by 2030. The initiative focuses on providing tailored loans and equity financing, as well as strategic guidance on international expansion and digital transformation.
This move aligns with the French government's broader economic strategy to strengthen the mid-cap sector, which is seen as a key driver of innovation and employment. Banque Populaire's program will be rolled out across its regional branches starting in June 2026.
