Aster CMI Hospital in Bengaluru has launched a specialized Pediatric Liver Intensive Care Unit (ICU) named PEARL (Pediatric Emergency and Advanced Response for Liver Care). The hospital announced the launch, confirming it is the first such dedicated unit in the state of Karnataka.
The PEARL unit is designed to provide comprehensive care for children with acute and chronic liver diseases, including those requiring transplants. It features advanced life support systems and is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of pediatric hepatologists, intensivists, and transplant surgeons.
The establishment of this dedicated facility aims to address the critical need for specialized liver care for children within the region, potentially reducing the need for patients to travel to other states for treatment.
