Ubisoft has officially confirmed that a ground-up remake of the 2013 pirate adventure, titled Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, is set to launch on July 9, 2026, exclusively for PlayStation 5. The announcement was made via a press release on April 25, 2026, marking the 13th anniversary of the original game's release.
According to Ubisoft, the remake features rebuilt assets, updated gameplay mechanics, and full integration with the PS5's DualSense controller. The original game, released in 2013, followed the pirate Edward Kenway and was praised for its open-world naval combat. The new version aims to modernize the experience while preserving the core story and setting.
No official details have been provided regarding a PC or Xbox release, though Ubisoft has stated that additional platforms may be announced at a later date. Pre-orders are expected to open soon, with a standard edition priced at $69.99 and a digital deluxe edition at $79.99, according to the press release.
This remake is part of Ubisoft's broader strategy to revive classic titles, following the success of the Assassin's Creed series' recent entries. The original Black Flag sold over 11 million copies worldwide and remains a fan favorite.
