The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially appointed former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan as the brand ambassador for all Ghana national teams and colts football. The announcement was made during a ceremony on May 20, 2026, in Accra.
GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku praised Gyan's contributions to Ghana football, stating, 'Asamoah Gyan's dedication and achievements on the field make him an ideal representative for our national teams and youth development programs.' Gyan, Ghana's all-time leading scorer with 51 goals, retired from professional football in 2023.
The role includes promoting the GFA's initiatives and inspiring young players across the country. Gyan expressed gratitude, saying, 'I am honored to give back to the sport that has given me so much.' The appointment is part of the GFA's broader strategy to engage former players in developmental roles.
