Liverpool manager Arne Slot has officially ruled himself out of contention for the Netherlands national team job, reaffirming his commitment to the Premier League club. Speaking to reporters, Slot said he is focused on his role at Anfield and will not pursue the vacant position with the Dutch national side.
The Netherlands are currently searching for a new head coach after Ronald Koeman's departure. Slot, who has impressed in his first season at Liverpool, was considered a leading candidate due to his Dutch nationality and successful track record with Feyenoord.
However, Slot emphasized that his future lies with Liverpool, where he signed a contract until 2027. He stated that he has no intention of leaving the club and is fully dedicated to building on the team's recent successes.
The Dutch football association (KNVB) will now have to look elsewhere for Koeman's successor, with other candidates such as Peter Bosz and Erik ten Hag being mentioned in the media.
