The appeal trial for 18 Senegalese football supporters detained in Morocco has been postponed, according to reports from their defense team. The men were arrested in February 2025 in Marrakech, accused of participating in violent incidents following a CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) match between Senegal and Ivory Coast.

In December 2025, a Moroccan court sentenced the group to prison terms ranging from four months to two years for charges including violence against public officials and participation in an armed gathering. Their lawyers appealed the verdict, leading to the current proceedings.

The defense committee for the supporters confirmed the postponement of the appeal hearing, which was scheduled for late March 2026. A new date for the trial has not yet been announced. The case has drawn significant diplomatic attention and public protests in Senegal, with calls for the fans' release.
