According to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), antisemitic incidents in the United States reached a record high in 2025, with 2,415 reported cases. This marks a 40% increase from 2024 and the highest number since the ADL began tracking such incidents in 1979.
The data, released in April 2026, shows that assaults accounted for 1,200 of these incidents, a 50% rise from the previous year. The ADL noted that the increase was driven by a surge in violent attacks, particularly in New York, California, and Florida.
Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO of the ADL, stated: 'The normalization of antisemitism in public discourse has emboldened perpetrators. We urge law enforcement and policymakers to take immediate action.' The report also highlighted a rise in incidents on college campuses and online platforms.
Experts attribute the trend to heightened political polarization and the spread of hate speech on social media. The ADL recommends enhanced security for Jewish institutions and stronger hate crime legislation.
