According to data from the Andalusian Institute of Statistics and Cartography (IECA), exports from Andalusia reached €22.5 billion in the first half of 2026, a 12% increase compared to the same period in 2025. This growth was driven by strong demand for agri-food products, particularly olive oil and fresh fruits, as well as chemical products.
The agri-food sector accounted for 35% of total exports, with olive oil exports alone rising by 18% to €3.2 billion. Chemical exports, including fertilizers and plastics, grew by 15% to €4.1 billion. The main destinations were the European Union (60% of total), followed by Asia and North America.
Seville and Cadiz were the leading exporting provinces, together representing 45% of the total value. The port of Algeciras saw a 20% increase in container traffic, reflecting the region's growing role in global trade.
Economists attribute the positive performance to improved competitiveness and diversification of markets. However, they warn that global supply chain disruptions and rising energy costs could pose challenges in the second half of the year.
