Algeria's Ministry of National Defense reported on Wednesday that a terrorist surrendered to military authorities and five individuals suspected of supporting terrorist groups were arrested. The operations were carried out by detachments of the People's National Army (ANP) across several regions of the country.
The surrender occurred in the sector of Tamanrasset, where the terrorist handed himself in to the military authorities. The ANP also arrested five elements responsible for supporting terrorist groups in separate operations in the sectors of Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, and In Guezzam, according to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense.
In addition, the army intercepted 17 individuals and seized equipment and vehicles used in illegal immigration and fuel smuggling operations. The ANP continues its efforts to combat terrorism and organized crime, ensuring the security and stability of the country.
