Al Barid Bank, a subsidiary of the Moroccan postal group (Poste Maroc), and the Moroccan fintech Chari have announced the signing of a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating the digitalization of payments and strengthening financial inclusion in Morocco. The agreement was announced on April 28, 2026, according to a joint press release.
The partnership focuses on the entire value chain of digital payments, including the integration of Chari's technology into Al Barid Bank's services. Chari, known for its B2B e-commerce and fintech solutions for informal retailers in Africa, will leverage its platform to facilitate digital transactions for merchants and consumers.
This collaboration is expected to enhance access to financial services for underserved populations, particularly in rural areas, by combining Al Barid Bank's extensive network of branches and postal outlets with Chari's digital capabilities. The initiative aligns with Morocco's national strategy for financial inclusion and digital transformation.
