Dhaka, Bangladesh – On April 25, 2026, the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) hosted a masterclass on artificial intelligence in filmmaking at its campus. The event, titled 'AI in Filmmaking: Revolutionizing the Creative Process,' brought together industry professionals and students to explore AI's role in modern cinema.
Speakers included filmmaker and AI researcher Dr. Shahriar Rahman, who demonstrated AI tools for script analysis and automated editing. 'AI is not replacing creativity but enhancing it,' Rahman said during the session. The masterclass also covered AI-generated visual effects and deepfake detection, with hands-on workshops for attendees.
Organized by AIUB's Department of Media and Communication, the event aimed to bridge the gap between traditional filmmaking and emerging technologies. Over 200 students and faculty participated, according to university spokesperson Farhana Islam.
