The Kerala Water Authority (KWA) has successfully deployed AI-powered inspection technology to address a blockage in its pipeline network in Kochi, enhancing water supply efficiency. The technology, which uses advanced imaging and data analysis, identified the obstruction without requiring extensive excavation.
According to KWA officials, the blockage was causing reduced water flow in parts of the city. The AI system, developed in collaboration with a local tech startup, pinpointed the exact location and nature of the blockage, allowing for targeted repairs. This minimized disruption to residents and reduced repair costs.
The deployment is part of a broader initiative by KWA to modernize its infrastructure using smart water management technologies. Similar AI-based inspections are planned for other critical pipelines in the state to prevent future disruptions and ensure reliable water supply.
