The World Trade Organization's (WTO) latest data indicates that Africa's international trade in services grew by approximately 3% in 2025. This represents a significant slowdown from the stronger growth recorded in 2024, according to the WTO's "World Trade Outlook and Statistics" report.

The travel and transport sectors were primary drivers of the continent's services exports. However, the overall global environment for trade in services remained subdued, with Africa's growth rate aligning with the worldwide average for the year.

The WTO report, published in early 2026, highlights that while Africa maintained positive growth, it did so at a more moderate pace than in the previous year. The data underscores the continent's continued integration into global services markets amid broader economic challenges.
