Adobe has announced new generative AI capabilities for its Firefly platform, turning it into a comprehensive audio studio. The update includes AI-powered music generation, voice cloning, and sound effects, positioning Adobe to compete directly with specialized startups like Suno, Udio, and ElevenLabs.
According to Adobe's announcement, the new Firefly audio features are designed to be commercially safe, trained on licensed content, and integrated into Creative Cloud applications. This approach aims to address copyright concerns that have plagued other AI music generators.
The music generation tool allows users to create full tracks from text prompts, while the voice cloning feature enables realistic voiceovers. Sound effects generation rounds out the suite, offering creators a one-stop shop for audio production.
Adobe's move is seen as a strategic expansion beyond its traditional image and video editing strengths, as the company seeks to capture a share of the rapidly growing AI content creation market.
