Adil Rais and Clemente González Soler have been re-elected for a new four-year term as co-presidents of the Morocco-Spain Economic Council (CEMAES), according to a statement from the General Confederation of Enterprises of Morocco (CGEM). The election took place on Monday, June 15, 2026, at the CGEM headquarters in Casablanca.
The CEMAES, established to strengthen bilateral economic ties, brings together business leaders from both countries. Rais, who also serves as vice-president of the CGEM, and González Soler, president of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, will continue to lead the council's efforts to promote trade and investment between Morocco and Spain.
The re-election was confirmed during the council's general assembly, which reviewed achievements over the past term and outlined priorities for the next four years. Key areas include boosting bilateral trade, fostering innovation, and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises.
Morocco and Spain have strong economic relations, with Spain being one of Morocco's top trading partners. The CEMAES plays a key role in facilitating business partnerships and addressing challenges in the bilateral economic relationship.
