French actress and director Nadia Farès has died at the age of 57. Her death was confirmed by her family to Agence France-Presse (AFP).
Farès suffered a cardiac incident while in a swimming pool on April 16, 2026, according to statements from her daughters. She was taken to a hospital in Draguignan, in southeastern France, where she later died.
An investigation into the circumstances of her death has been opened by the Draguignan prosecutor's office. Initial findings indicate no foul play was involved.
Nadia Farès was best known for her role in the 2000 thriller 'The Crimson Rivers' ('Les Rivières Pourpres') alongside Jean Reno. She had recently been preparing to direct her first feature film, for which she also wrote the screenplay.
