Moroccan author Abdellah Taïa has released a new book titled 'Never Stop Screaming' (original French: 'Ne jamais s'arrêter de crier'), published in 2026. The work continues Taïa's exploration of exile, queer identity, and personal liberation, themes central to his previous novels such as 'The Melancholy of the Arabs' and 'A Country for Dying'.
Taïa, who has lived in Paris since 1999, is known for being one of the first openly gay Arab writers. His writing often draws on his childhood in Salé, Morocco, and his experiences as an immigrant. 'Never Stop Screaming' is described by critics as a raw, autobiographical narrative that confronts societal taboos and the search for freedom.
The book has been featured in literary festivals and received attention for its unflinching portrayal of marginalization. Taïa's work has been translated into multiple languages, and he has also directed films, including 'Salvation Army' (2013), based on his novel of the same name.
