The 4th edition of the Marrakech African Book Festival (FLAM) is taking place from April 24 to 26, 2026, in Marrakech, Morocco. The event brings together African and diaspora writers for three days of literary exchanges, book signings, and panel discussions.
According to the festival's official program, this year's edition features over 30 authors from across the continent, including prominent voices from Morocco, Senegal, Ivory Coast, and Cameroon. The theme focuses on the role of literature in preserving African oral traditions and promoting cultural diversity.
Key events include a tribute to the late Moroccan writer Driss ChraΓ―bi, a workshop on publishing in Africa, and a children's storytelling session. The festival is held at the Palais Bahia and other cultural venues in Marrakech's medina.
Organizers expect around 10,000 visitors, based on attendance figures from previous editions. The festival is supported by the Moroccan Ministry of Culture and the French Institute of Marrakech.
