The 35th edition of the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc, an exclusive off-road navigation rally for women, was launched on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from the city of Nice, France. The event, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary, will see competitors travel from the French Riviera to the Moroccan desert.
According to official event organizers, 160 all-female teams from various countries are participating in this year's rally. The competition is unique for its emphasis on precision navigation over speed, challenging participants to cover the shortest possible distance between checkpoints without GPS assistance.
The rally's first competitive leg began after the ceremonial start in Nice, with the convoy set to cross the Mediterranean by ferry. The main off-road stages of the event will take place in the deserts of southern Morocco, following the tradition of the rally which has been held annually since 1990.
The Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles is recognized as a pioneer in all-women motorsport and promotes values of solidarity, adventure, and environmental responsibility, with initiatives to offset its carbon footprint.
