The 35th edition of the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles, a unique all-female off-road rally, commenced from Nice, France, on Saturday, March 28, 2026. The event, which celebrates its 35th anniversary this year, sees hundreds of women competitors navigating by traditional methods without GPS, heading towards the Moroccan desert for the competitive stages.
According to the official event organizers, the rally began with a ceremonial start on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice. The teams then embarked on a liaison route south before the official competition starts in the deserts of Morocco, near the city of Essaouira, around April 1st.
The rally is known for its eco-friendly ethos and emphasis on adventure and solidarity rather than pure speed. This year's edition features participants from numerous countries, competing in various vehicle categories, from 4x4s to side-by-sides. The competitive portion in Morocco is scheduled to conclude around April 11, 2026.
