The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that the 2027 World Test Championship (WTC) final will be held at Lord's Cricket Ground in London. This was confirmed by the ICC on July 22, 2026, following a meeting of its board. Lord's previously hosted the 2021 WTC final, where New Zealand defeated India by eight wickets.
The 2027 final is scheduled to take place from June 11 to 15, 2027, with a reserve day on June 16. The venue selection comes after Lord's hosted a Test match in July 2025 where India defeated England by 10 wickets, a result that may have influenced the choice.
In the 2023 WTC final at The Oval, Australia beat India by 209 runs. The 2025 final was held at Lord's, where Australia defeated South Africa by 123 runs. The 2027 final will be the fourth edition of the WTC, following the 2021, 2023, and 2025 finals.
The ICC also confirmed that the 2029 WTC final will be held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Australia. The decision to award Lord's the 2027 final was based on its historic significance and capacity to host a major event.
