The draw for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers was held on May 20, 2026, in Cairo, Egypt. The tournament is scheduled to be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
According to the Confederation of African Football (CAF), 48 teams were divided into 12 groups of four for the qualifying phase. The group winners and runners-up will advance to the final tournament, joining the three co-hosts.
Notable groups include Group A featuring Senegal, Burkina Faso, and South Sudan, while Group B includes Morocco, Gabon, and Central African Republic. Defending champions Ivory Coast are in Group G with Cameroon, Mozambique, and Ethiopia.
The qualifiers are set to begin in September 2026 and conclude in November 2026. The final tournament will take place from June to July 2027 across the three East African nations.
