The 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) officially kicked off on July 26, 2026, with the first round of group stage matches. The tournament, hosted by Morocco, features 12 teams competing for the continental title.
According to the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the opening match saw Morocco face Zambia at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat. Other first-round fixtures include Nigeria vs. South Africa and Ghana vs. Cameroon, among others.
CAF has not yet released the full match schedule for the first round, but confirmed that all matches will be played across four venues in Morocco. The tournament runs until August 19, 2026.
